Anthem Blue Cross (Anthem) offers Medicare Advantage Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans in California. Depending on where you live, you may be able to find an Anthem Medicare Advantage PPO plan in your area.

Medicare Advantage is another term for Medicare Part C. Medicare Advantage plans cover everything found in Medicare Part A and Part B, and many plans also offer benefits not covered by Original Medicare. These benefits may include coverage for things like dental, vision hearing, prescription drugs and more.
Medicare Advantage plans can come in some of the same plan types that you may already be familiar with, such as HMO and PPO plans.
PPO stands for “Preferred Provider Organization.”
In a Medicare Advantage PPO plan from Anthem, you will select a primary care physician for your basic health care services. You don’t need to seek referrals from your doctor in order to visit with specialists or other providers, however.
You can receive care outside the plan network, though you’ll pay lower out-of-pocket costs if you visit an in-network provider. PPO plans are generally popular with beneficiaries who like to travel and those who prefer to have a little more freedom and flexibility in their health care decisions.

The Anthem MediBlue Dual Access PPO D-SNP is a specialized Medicare Advantage plan that’s designed specifically for people who are enrolled in Medicare and who also receive Medicaid benefits. The Anthem MediBlue ESRD Care PPO C-SNP is a Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan tailored to meet the needs of people who have End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).
These plans include all of the benefits of Original Medicare and may include some of the same supplemental benefits listed above.
PPO plans may sometimes have higher monthly premiums than HMO plans because of the flexibility to visit providers who are outside of the plan network. Medicare Advantage plan premiums may also vary based on where you live and the exact plan you have.
